Texas Health Commission Issues Telemedicine Medical Services Report; Proposes Medicaid Changes for Mental Health Services

NOTE:   Last week, CTeL prepared an info summary based on a news story headlined "Proposed Changes in Medicare Reimbursement Allow Telemedicine Providers to Offer Increased Services".   Among other items, this news article described changes in the Texas Medicaid program.

The article also indicated that changes were being considered for the Medicare program, as well.  However, the changes described in the article do not appear to be under consideration for the Medicare program.

It appears that one source for the information used in this article is a Biennial Report to the Texas Legislature on "Telemedicine Medical Services".  This report provides a review of the effects of telemedicine medical services on the Texas Medicaid program and information on proposed changes for mental health services in Texas.
